The women, within the framework of theater therapy prepared a play entitled “The Passion. It not only tells some story but is also an act of transformation. During the first part of performance women tell the stories of their life. Several women were the victims of violence for all their childhood. All of them experienced violence for all their adult life. They were maltreated for a string of the years and they had to fight to survive. On the stage each of this struggles is presented in the form of the mask. All women hide their real I, real needs, dreams and desires under the masks. The second part of performance is a symbolic act of taking the masks off. The women finish with their past and they free themselves from bonds of violence. The women who take the mask off say a spell “This is my true face”, the face of free woman, the face of woman who is aware of her own abilities and realises her own desires. Dagna Ślepowrońska listened to the stories of women’s life and wrote a screenplay of this play. Dagna Ślepowrońska and Maria Depta directed this performance. The music was prepared by Katarzyna Szurman and Katarzyna Żytomirska. On the stage we saw six women, who take part in the project Work and Dignity for Women Victims of Violence: Beata, Beata, Bogusia, Ewa, Jola, Klaudia and Dagna Ślepowrońska and Maria Depta. A large number of people who work with the women victims of violence, and a string of the women who are victims of violence saw this play and they were moved to tears. 2007-07-03 15:23:16
