The final „Women Now!” seminar in Bratislava
Between 22nd and 23rd of May, we participated in the final seminar of the “Women Now!” transnational partnership in Senec, a small summer resort near Bratislava. The “Women between migration and reconciliation” partnership was represented by Joanna Kozłowska, Beata Banderowicz (Women’s Rights Center), Małgorzata Jaskółowska, Magdalena Morye (Warsaw Żoliborz District Social Welfare Agency), Lidia Orzelska-Wiech and Agnieszka Szymańska (Voivodship Labor Office in Warsaw). During the two day Seminar, we participated in various lectures and presentations, prepared by the members of the “Women Now!” partnership. One very interesting lecture was given by Bratislava Psychology Department Professor Anton Heretik, who presented the results of his research in the field of extreme aggression in relation to domestic violence. Next, all national partnership’s representatives presented theirs “Best Practices” and afterwards, everybody discussed on that issue. In the evening of the same day, we visited two shelters for women victims of violence and their children in Bratislava. The evening ended-up with an open-air grill in our hotel in Senec. On the following day, the steering committee meeting took place. 2007-07-02 17:09:36
